My name is Francesca Barroso (He/They). I'm from Madison, WI, and am currently pursuing majors in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Theater at Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN. I'm a textile artist 

Artist statement

As someone with a deep passion for archival work, my creative process frequently starts with research into the historical record. I’m passionate about community care and knowledge, and I hope to pursue a MLIS post-grad.

I work as a costume designer and stitcher for Macalester College's Theater Department, fabricating, dying, distressing, and tailoring pieces for our productions. I'm working this summer as an intern at the Children's Theater Company in their TAT program as an assistant costume designer.

My past work includes time spent as a research assistant, digital archival assistant, transcriber, calculus tutor, and bike mechanic.
